“My worker at One25 kept visiting me and helped me get all the agencies together to find me accommodation and money to live and eventually childcare. I am now starting to work as a volunteer for One25”

One-to-one casework support

Fact: In 2009, the caseworkers helped 77 women of whom: 29 exited street sex-work and/or maintained their exit; 48 accessed drug treatment; 31 stopped using drugs/alcohol altogether; 77 accessed health services; 28 benefited from therapies; 30 were securely housed; 14 kept their children safely in their care; 20 made positive contact with their families and were reunited with their children and 32 were in training, education or employment.

We offer one-to-one casework, supporting each woman in taking steps to improve her quality of life and acting as personal advocate when necessary. Often their lives have been filled with exploitation and coercion and it’s important to see them taking responsibility and making changes for themselves. Our caseworkers help the women establish themselves in the basic aspects of life such as accommodation, health, benefits, family support, education and so on. Requests for casework support are often made on the van or at the drop-in.
